MAIN SPREADSHEETS (Click to see the sample) are EXCEL files with following features:

Calculate deflections of multi story reinforced concrete prismatic walls

for walls with or without enlarged ends, symmetric or unsymmetrical

Bending and shear demand/capacity checking under maximum or minimum axial load including vertical seismic forces

 Strain and Strength reduction factors determination

Calculate Required boundary element dimensions and reinforcement per ACI

The input block and the intermediate calculations of the main spreadsheet are not locked so it can be modified to the user's need. There are two main spreadsheets in the package. The first spreadsheet is intended for walls less than ten stories high, and the second spreadsheet is the extended version for walls up to 40 stories high.

COMPANION SPREADSHEETS are for non-prismatic walls where users can input wall deflections from other programs, such as ETABS, RISA. This spreadsheet can be used for any number of story.

 

The main assumptions, input description, example problem verification and graphical details, and a summary of UBC requirements for shear wall design are included in the package. Easy input with drop down feature and guidelines on required input are provided through validation box. Different cell colors are used to indicate acceptable and under design conditions, as well as warnings.
